If you’re looking for a cheap, quick, stylish and easy gift or dinner party number then these Deceptively Posh DIY Chocs are for you! The hidden gem to this recipe is that your humble ice cube tray does all the work for you (well, almost..!) You could use some actual chocolate moulds if you have them, but I think the classic ice cube tray shapes works better and you get a bigger chocolate piece.
A side note – the better quality chocolate you use here, the better these will taste. The beauty of this recipe is that YOU can choose – Price, chocolate flavour, favourite nuts…customise until your hearts content.
Have fun!

Ingredients for Deceptively Posh DIY Chocs

250g white chocolate
250g dark chocolate
100g mixed nuts/dried fruit (I used a mix of cranberries, pistachios, walnuts, almonds and pumpkin seeds) – A mix of colours will give them a real punch!

(some freezer space too!)

Makes about 40 chocs

1) Melt your chocolate, in separate bowls (click here and go to number 11 for my preferred method for melting chocolate) and set aside to cool for a moment.

2) Using your ice cube trays (make sure they are completely dry) arrange the dried fruit/nuts/seeds at the bottom. You might want to chop some of the nuts up, so you can fit more in, but you only need one layer. A little goes a long way. Then pour the melted chocolate to the fill line of ice ice cube container. Alternatively, you can pour the chocolate in first and then arrange the nuts/seeeds/fruits on top of the chocolate.

3) Pop these trays in the freezer for at least 2 hours, or until set. Once set, pop them out of the trays and there you have it – Deceptively Posh (and oh so simple) DIY Chocs!
